Education

This is why I also teach life-skills to my students and also real-world situations. It’s so real, useful, and practical. I care about my students and I want them to succeed and do well in all avenues. It’s something I know I must do!

"There were no sex classes. No friendship classes. No classes on how to navigate a bureaucracy, build an organization, raise money, create a database, buy a house, love a child, spot a scam, talk someone out of suicide, or figure out what was important to me. Not knowing how to do these things is what messes people up in life, not whether they know algebra or can analyze literature.”

Earthquake hits off coast of Port Hardy, B.C. | Globalnews.ca →

Wow! 6.7 shakedown in my hometown about two hours ago! Everyone’s ok, just a little shook up! Stuff in shelves flew out! It’s land based, not water based, so no tsunami threat. It shook all the way down to Victoria, and over to the lower mainland, to Vancouver and beyond. We felt nothing.

I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.

If you do not love what you do, if you are not appropriately grateful for the chance to create something magical each time you sit down at the computer or with a pencil and paper in hand, somewhere along the way your writing will betray you.

In order for a relationship to last forever two people need to put God before anything else in their lives, then each other.

All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me… You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.

She dropped her shyness like a nightgown, and in the liquid glare of sunlight on old boards she held up her hands—as if, in the terror of the upcoming skirmish, she had at last understood that she was beautiful. In her own way.
